When I come to school, someone is happy to see me.
I change into my indoor shoes and begin the day my own way. Sometimes I move right away — a swing, a slide, a little play. Sometimes I look out the window and watch the cars go by.
I go into the room and put my bag in my cubby. There are new things to touch, move, build, and try. I look around and choose where to start.
I play. I draw on the board. I make marks and lines. Sometimes I change my mind and
start again. It’s fun. I want to do it again.
We sing and move every day with my friends. We use our bodies and our voices
together.
Snack time is when we sit, eat, talk, and laugh with friends.
I’m happy. This is my school. Color Beams.
Color Beams was created so children can experience childhood as it is meant to be —curious, active, imaginative, and connected.
Each day includes time to play, move, explore, and build relationships in spaces
designed for how children naturally learn.
Here, children form friendships, feel secure, and grow within a community that truly knows them.

Ideas come together through play, movement, materials, and imagination, allowing understanding to grow naturally over time.
Color Beams School is shaped by four decades of direct classroom leadership,
hands-on teaching, and the thoughtful design of learning spaces.
Every decision — from the layout of the spaces to the choice of materials and daily
rhythm —grows out of a deep understanding of how children grow, play, and learn.
